Ready, Set, Change Lives! 5 Steps to Becoming a Girl Scout Leader:

1. Sign-up as a troop leader 
  • Visit our website, and follow the steps to register as a Girl Scout member and troop leader.
  • Already a Girl Scout member? Log into myGS and “Add a Role”.
  • Need help? Contact us with any questions!


2. Complete your background check
  • Help ensure the safety of our girls by completing your background check after you sign-up as a leader.


3. Start your troop leader training
  • Complete the Successful Leader Learning Series in gsLearn, which you can access through myGS.
  • Review your welcome e-mail from Volunteer Support and sign your position description.


4. Meet your support network
  • Use the calendly link in your welcome e-mail to schedule a time to talk with your Volunteer Support Specialist to review troop leader basics, resources, and help get you ready for the next steps!


5. Embark on your Girl Scout adventure
  • Meet with your co-leaders and your troop.
  • Review your Troop Packet on our website.
  • And have fun!
