Ride for Mo 2026: Next Gen Riders Program for Kids

February 26, 2026

As part of the 2026 Ride for Mo festivities, the Next Gen Riders program offers a special opportunity just for kids to be part of this meaningful community event. Hosted at Rifugio Darling Hill, this youth-focused ride and skills session is designed to give young cyclists a fun, supportive introduction to trail riding while honoring the legacy of Mo Wilson.

While adult riders head out on the main Ride for Mo routes, children ages 5–13 can take part in their own three-hour mountain biking experience on Darling Hill. Led by experienced instructors, the session focuses on building confidence and essential riding skills such as braking, shifting, body position, and trail awareness. Through guided trail riding and skill-based games, participants learn in a camp-style environment that emphasizes fun, safety, and growth.

The Next Gen Riders program welcomes all skill levels and uses small group instruction to ensure each child gets the attention they need to succeed. Riders must be comfortable riding a two-wheeled bike, and families may bring their own bikes or reserve a rental if needed.

The program takes place on May 9, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rifugio Darling Hill. The cost is $65 per child (or $55 for siblings), and $15 from every registration is donated to the Moriah Wilson Foundation, helping support opportunities for youth to get outside and ride.

The Next Gen Riders program makes Ride for Mo a true family event, giving kids the chance to build skills, make friends, and be part of a positive cycling community. It’s a memorable way for young riders to connect with the outdoors while participating in an event that celebrates resilience, community, and the joy of riding.
